SA Junior Surfing Champs

The September holidays saw 3 of our learners, who had qualified for the event, compete in the SA Junior Surfing Champs in Jeffrey's Bay, Chanelle Botha, Koby Oberholzer & Brody Rudling. Both Chanelle & Koby made it through to the finals with Chanelle finishing 3rd overall & Koby finishing 2nd. They have both been included in the South African Junior Surfing Squad. Congratulations to them both.

 Chanelle Botha Surfing Achievements 2014

In January Chanelle was selected for the 3rd consecutive year to represent South Africa at the 2014 ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, in Ecuador.

Shortly after this Cemented herself as a top junior not just in South Africa but abroad when she took out the u/18 Girls title at the SA vs France Junior International held in Durban in March.

In April Chanelle flew the SA flag high at the World Junior Champs when she finished 22nd in the highly competitive u/18 girls division.

Just a week after touching down in SA Chanelle was off to Mossel Bay for the 1st stop of the 2014 Billabong Junior Series and she picked up right where she left off in 2013, by taking the win in the u/18 girls as well as a 2nd in the ASP rated u/20 pro junior girls.

Most recently she took part in the Durban July Surf Extravaganza where she walked away with a win in the u/18 girls and a 3rd in the u/20 girls.

Chanelle is currently the first seed for the KZN South Team as she has won all the trials held.

With just half the year gone by with some awesome results, the second half of the year is looking to be exciting!
